Senior Power Trader within Precept Power Solutions has P&L responsibility for the regional desk’s book, which includes market transactions and client deals, as well as related hedges, with a focus on the prompt month forward.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Propose, get approval for and execute trading strategies around client transactions
- Develops and executes trading strategies that account for energy, shape, basis, and nonlinear products
- Be the product specialist in power on all issues related to delivery, transmission, congestion and settlement
- Work closely with the analytics team to improve price and risk modelling
- Research and development of analytical tools, trading ideas
- Contribute to the broader objectives of the group across trading, financing, collateral and portfolio management
Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in the energy sector in a similar role
- Trading experience in one or more ISOs (PJM, ERCOT, ISONE, NYISO, MISO, SPP and CAISO)
- Renewables experience is a plus
- Significant commercial acumen and analytical skills
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline required
- Master Degree preferred
